Privacy Policy

ASK Institute is the educational service operated by ASK Ministry INC. This policy explains how we handle information in the ASK Institute student, family and staff portal at edu.askministry.org.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide or that authorized staff record to deliver educational services. This includes student and guardian names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, school and grade, optional date of birth and sibling names, registration and class requests, enrollment and attendance, assessments and learning results, counseling and educational planning records, invoices, and recorded payment information.
Google sign-in provides a verified account identifier and email address used to connect you to your account. We also use session information and operational records, such as account access, changes to records, message delivery status and errors, to run and protect the portal.
If you manage SMS notifications, we record the mobile number, the signed-in user, consent status, consent and withdrawal times, the screen used, and the version and wording of the consent notice. Entering a contact number alone does not constitute SMS consent. If you text ASK Institute, we also store your number, message content, timestamps and delivery information so staff can respond. An incoming inquiry is not treated as consent to recurring notifications.
How we use information
We use this information to register students, organize classes, provide assessments and counseling, maintain educational and billing records, communicate with authorized students and guardians, manage account access, and resolve service or security issues. SMS consent covers operational notices about class schedules, registration, billing reminders, assessments and counseling appointments. It does not cover advertising or promotional texts.
Access and service providers
Students, guardians and staff receive access according to their linked accounts and permissions. We use service providers to operate the portal, including Google/Firebase for sign-in, Render for application hosting, Supabase/PostgreSQL for data storage, Google Workspace for connected documents and calendars, and Twilio for SMS delivery when configured. These providers process information needed to provide their services on our behalf.
Mobile phone information and SMS opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented or shared with third parties, affiliates or lead generators for advertising, marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent is specific to ASK Institute and is not transferred to another business. Access by providers that support message delivery or consent management is limited to providing those services on our behalf.
Your SMS choices
SMS consent is optional and is not required to register or receive educational services. Each number’s user must give their own consent while signed in. A student providing a guardian’s number does not opt that guardian in. Existing contacts are not automatically opted in, and consent does not transfer to a new phone number.

Photos, videos and educational portfolios
ASK Institute may photograph or record group activities, classroom learning, and student work for program documentation, private updates to participating families, and materials provided for your child’s educational or college portfolio. Your child may be recognizable in group images. Close-up portraits or images prominently featuring your child’s face require separate permission.
If you decline, your child will be positioned outside the camera view or may be asked to briefly step aside while group photos or videos are taken. This will not affect participation in the educational program. We will not keep photo or video portfolio records of your child and cannot provide those materials later. Student work and other educational records are not affected.
Allow approved group and classroom photos or videos that include my child on the ASK Institute website. This does not authorize close-up portraits or images prominently featuring my child’s face. Declining website use does not prevent private family updates or portfolio materials.
Parents and legal guardians make separate recording and website choices for each child. We record the notice version, choice, account and time. Choices can be changed for future use in Family Settings. Contact ASK with questions about previously shared materials.
Questions and requests
For privacy questions or requests to access, correct or delete your information, contact askinstitute@askministry.org. We may need to verify your identity and authority over a student or family record before responding. We will review requests in light of the educational service, applicable obligations and the records involved.
Updates to this policy will be posted on this page with the effective date.
